On-Street Parking
Wellington City Council charges for on-street parking at the rate of $4 per hour on Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8am and 6pm (through 8pm on Fridays). Parking is free outside these hours as well as on public holidays.
You pay at the nearest Pay and Display terminal and receive a ticket which you display on your dashboard. These Play and Display terminals accept coins only.
Caution: except on Sundays and public holidays, there is a 2-hour maximum stay after which you have to shift your car.
Alpha Street Car Park (opposite The Training Space building)
Parking is available for $1.50 per hour seven days a week from 6am until 10pm. The terminal on the lot only accepts coins, and it produces a ticket for you to display on your dashboard.
Caution: your car will be towed away at your expense if no ticket is displayed or if the ticket has expired.
Century City Car Park (60 Tory Street)
Parking is available for $3 per hour on weekdays ($3 minimum; $16 cap for any 24-hour period) and $3 per six-hours on weekends ($3 minimum; $3 for each additional 6 hour block or part thereof). There are two special weekday flat day rates: $9 if you arrive between 6am and 10am and leave by 5pm; and $10 if you arrive after 10am and leave by 5pm.
You can pay with either cash or credit card. You will be charged $20 if you have lost your parking ticket. The car park closes at 10pm each evening and reopens at 6am each morning. Please ensure you have your carparking ticket with you for access to the car park during these times.
